Jaz

Jaz began playing the violin at five and quickly rose to prominence, winning first place at the National Piano and Violin Competition (Junior Category) and multiple regional accolades. At 15, she earned her Licentiate Diploma (LTCL) with high distinction.

She has performed as a soloist with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra and at national events attended by dignitaries including former President Tony Tan and former Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong. In 2020, her viral balcony performance at Shangri-La Rasa Sentosa gained nationwide attention, leading to her solo feature at the National Day Parade and commendation from former Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat.

Jaz embarked on her musical journey at the tender age of five and quickly distinguished herself as a prodigious talent. In 2007, she clinched first place in the Junior Category of the National Piano and Violin Competition, becoming one of the youngest winners in the competition’s history. That same year, she was awarded the Silver Medal at the 6th Asian Youth Music Competition, supported by the Parsons Music Foundation, and went on to win first prize at the Trinity Guildhall Music Competition in 2008.

At just 15, Jaz achieved the Licentiate of Trinity College London (Level 6 Diploma) with high distinction. She has since graced numerous prestigious stages, including a notable performance in 2012 as part of a violin-cello duo at ChildAid—a charity concert co-organised by The Straits Times and The Business Times—attended by former President Tony Tan. In 2008, she was featured as a soloist with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra in an outdoor concert and performed at a high-profile fundraising dinner graced by former Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.

Jaz has held the esteemed position of concert mistress across several string ensembles and captivated national attention in 2020 when her balcony performance at Shangri-La Rasa Sentosa went viral, earning features in The Straits Times and a live interview with 938FM. This led to her celebrated appearance as a solo violinist at the National Day Parade 2020, where she received commendation from former Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat.
